There is no specific program or a common strategy developed in the region yet. Sustainable "green" activities are expected to be funded mainly the international sources, such as EBRD, Green Climate Fund, Awesome Foundation, etc. However, some small local funds are also available. So for the further small NBS activities there are preliminary agreements in Armenia with local charity funds (e.g. Eurasia Public Charity Organization) to continue the NBS development program with kindergartens, with a great hope state local funding from Municipalities to join as well. In Georgia potentially important source of NBS funding is expected to become municipal budgets in those cases, where NBS could be prescribed through urban land use plans in the process of SEA.
The basis for the further activities on developing funding pipelines for NBS could become Green City Action Plans (GCAPs) as strategic documents available for several Caucasian cities. GCAPs could serve as an excellent platform with well-defined urban environmental issues and mid- and short-term activities to be implemented towards their solutions, potentially including NBS as well.
