Recently, Brazil has seen an increase in the number of municipal climate action plans that include NBS as a guiding principle, as in the case of Recife, Fortaleza, Curitiba, Salvador, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Such plans indicate paths for greater civil society engagement in climate resilience in cities and effective guidelines as well as strategies to implement necessary changes especially in urban areas.
Also, the Federal Government published in 2021 the National Policy for Payment for Environmental Services, which helps the use of NBS at the landscape scale across the country. This law is a good indicator that future laws varied from this policy can be built to benefit the NBS.
